By Simon Rune Knudsen , writer at creators. If you want to compete and rank up in Hearthstone you need gold to craft the best legendaries for the best decks. Unfortunately, it's a real pain to earn gold in Blizzard's popular card game. The daily quests are limited to one a day, and the small income from regular wins demands a grinding approach to Hearthstone that just isn't very fun.

Sure, arena runs can net you a decent amount of gold if you're consistently good, but you'll have to master the mechanics behind playing arena first. Else, you'll just be wasting your gold instead of earning it. So how do you go about earning that precious and needed gold in Hearthstone? Getting started in Hearhstone is definitely not easy.

With new expansions, cards and adventures being implemented every couple of months, the amount of gold you need to achieve a decent, competitive collection of cards is constantly growing. So in order to minimize the amount of time you have to spend grinding, we've created a small guide to gold earning in the game—a few steps that'll help you climb the ladder as you get to craft essential legendaries and other powerful cards as soon as possible.

Each day you can re-roll one of the up to three quests you're currently on. It's important to learn which quests to keep and which to re-roll, since you want to be as effective as possible when completing quests.

It's your main source of gold income in Hearthstone. Quests can award anywhere from 40 to gold. Generally it's a good idea to mulligan the 40 gold versions, as the chances for getting a quest with a bigger reward is high, and it can't get any worse. Unless you know you won't be able to complete one of the more rewarding but also more demanding ones, because you won't be able to play for the next couple of days, and won't have a chance to mulligan the quest later. At the end of each Hearthstone season, players who have reached Rank 20 or higher in ranked format Wild or Standard mode will be granted a Ranked Chest.

The contents of these chests depend on how far up the ladder you managed to climb in the season. If you got rank 4 at some point during the season, you'll be rewarded the Sea Giant's treasure containing 2 golden commons, 1 golden epic, 10 dust and a card back, though if you managed to get to rank 18, you'll get the Shieldbearer's Footlocker, which only contains 1 golden common, 15 dust and a card back.

We know this is not technically a gold reward, but it translates to the same reward since the golden cards are very valuable and can be disenchanted for a lot of dust if you won't use them. As you probably know, arena is an entirely different gameplay experience than ranked Hearthstone.

Mastering it nets attractive rewards when it comes to earning gold and growing your collection. If you get more than three wins in a run, you've earned back the gold spent to enter, and when you reach seven or more wins, you'll get the really big rewards.

To pick the right cards for the right deck can be difficult, but there are a ton of guides out there, and even sites and programs that determines the value of the cards presented to you in the arena based on what specific cards are already in your deck.

Use them and get better by watching Arena-experts like Kripparian play on Twitch. When you've completed your quests and tried arena a couple of times, you'll eventually go back to ranked play where you can farm the 10 gold you get from every three wins.

And in order for this to not feel too much like a hamster wheel, you need to think about efficiency. You should build a Hearthstone deck that strikes a balance between swiftness and win rate. Because even though a slow control deck might result in a higher win percentage overall, the fact that games take 15 minutes instead of 5 will make you earn a lot less gold per hour in the long run.

Losing doesn't matter much when you're not trying to rank, as long as you can quickly move on and play another game.

[Guide] The Best Way To Earn Cards : hearthstone

There's a ton of more or less hidden quests in Hearthstone , which you can complete sooner rather than later when you know they exist. Most of them are like small gifts for achieving benchmarks in the game.

Unless you play the game an insane amount of course. Anyway, because it's so difficult to scrape together even small amounts of wealth in-game, it's imperative that you spend the gold in the right way.
